*Tuesday, September 21st at the Willie O’Ree Place from 6:30-8:30pm
*Saturday, September 25th at the Grant Harvey Centre from 9:00-11:00am.

We will be accepting e-transfers and/or cheques only. No cash!

The winter skating season for Learn to Skate and Figure skating begin following Thanksgiving.

The schedule information below is for the 2021 season. (Updated September 12th 2021)

Please take note that Saturday programs are run at the Lady Beaverbrook Rink and Sunday programs are held at Willie O’Ree Place

Registration must be made prior to first skating session and space is limited.

IMPORTANT: You must have a updated City Fredericton Recreation Card number and expiration date to register with us. Cards are required for each individual skater. Registrations will not be accepted without this number.

To obtain a card number, visit the following link  It is an easy and quick process! You will need to attach a picture of your Drivers Licence or upload photos of two different utility bills with your current address.  The city of fredericton will then issue you a receipt to your email address which will have each individual listed with their updated recreation numbers.

Pre-Canskate is for beginners who have never skated before.

Canskate is the learn-to-skate program for those who have been on the ice before they start lessons.

Adult learn to skate is for those wishing to learn to skate who are beyond the age for Canskate. This program will include group instruction from a certified coach for 2 – 15 minute sessions each week and 1 – 10 minute sessions to practice their skills independently.

All skaters who have not completed badge number 6 of the Skate Canada Canskate program must wear a hockey helmet. Bicycle helmets are not acceptable. Please see the following document for Skate Canada’s helmet policy. Helmet Use Policy

The first term of winter season begins October 16th and October 17th, 2021 and ends at the end of March 2022

CanSkate – 1:00 to 1:45 pm

CanSkate – 1:45 to 2:30 pm

Pre-Canskate -1:00 to 1:30 pm

Sunday – At Willie O’Ree Place

Canskate will begin on Saturday October 16, 2021, and Sunday October 17, 2021. Skaters must be registered for insurance reasons prior to the first skating session. Any skaters arriving at the first session without prior registration will have to wait until the second week to begin skating if there are available spaces.

* Please make sure to have your skates sharpened before your first day of Canskate. Brand new skates are not usually sharp when purchased, please check them!
* Parents/Guardians are encouraged to watch from the stands, but are not permitted to go on the ice for insurance reasons.

*Please note that the fees stated below do not include any outside city user fees.


There are no refunds after November 1, 2021. Any refunds requested will not include the $65.00 Skate Canada New Brunswick registration fee.

All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Club Board of Directors. Refunds will be mailed to the parent within thirty (30) days of the written requests.

2021-2022 Cancellation Schedule

The Capital City Skating Club shares the use of the City of Fredericton arenas with other users, occasionally we have to cancel or reschedule sessions in order to accommodate special events for other users of the facilities. Cancellations and schedule changes will be kept up to date in our Club Calendar. (Calendar will be updated after dates are received from the City of Fredericton.)
