Registration for our winter 2019-2020 season takes place in September on the following dates and times.

Monday Sept 16 6:30 pm -8:30 pm at the Willie O’Ree

Tuesday Sept 17 6:30 pm-8:30 pm at Willie

Saturday Sept 21 – 9am11am at Grant Harvey

The winter skating season for Learn to Skate and Figure skating begin following Thanksgiving.

The information below is for the 2019-2020 season. (Updated September 16th 2019)

Please take note that Saturday programs are run at the Lady Beaverbrook Rink and Tuesday and Sunday programs are held at Willie O’Ree Place

Registration must be made in person (forms are only available in person for Canskate) and space is limited.

IMPORTANT: You must have a City Fredericton Recreation Card to register with us. Cards are required for each individual skater.

The City of Fredericton staff will be on site during registration and without a card, you will not be permitted to register.

Cards are available at the Recreation Office at 514 Queen St, the Fredericton Indoor Pool or City Hall Service Centre. You will need to provide a valid drivers license or two pieces of ID with your current address in order to obtain a recreation card.

Pre-Canskate is for beginners who have never skated before.

Canskate is the learn-to-skate program for those who have been on the ice before they start lessons.

Adult learn to skate is for those wishing to learn to skate who are beyond the age for Canskate. This program will include group instruction from a certified coach for 2 – 15 minute sessions each week and 1 – 10 minute sessions to practice their skills independently.

All skaters who have not completed badge number 6 of the Skate Canada Canskate program must wear a hockey helmet. Bicycle helmets are not acceptable. Please see the following document for Skate Canada’s helmet policy. Helmet Use Policy

Canskate will begin on Saturday October 19, 2019, and Sunday October 20, 2019. Skaters must be registered for insurance reasons prior to the first skating session. Any skaters arriving at the first session without prior registration will have to wait until the second week to begin skating if there are available spaces.

* Please make sure to have your skates sharpened before your first day of Canskate. Brand new skates are not usually sharp when purchased, please check them!
* Parents/Guardians are encouraged to watch from the stands, but are not permitted to go on the ice for insurance reasons.

There are no refunds after November 1, 2019. Any refunds requested will not include the $55.00 Skate Canada New Brunswick registration fee.

All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Club Board of Directors. Refunds will be mailed to the parent within thirty (30) days of the written requests.

Capital City Skating Club

2019-2020 Cancellation Schedule

The Capital City Skating Club shares the use of the City of Fredericton arenas with other users, occasionally we have to cancel or reschedule sessions in order to accommodate special events for other users of the facilities. Cancellations and schedule changes will be kept up to date in our Club Calendar. (Calendar will be updated after dates are received from the City of Fredericton.)
