Registration for our winter 2020 season will take place online. Please contact the club by email to receive registration forms and instructions.

The winter skating season for Learn to Skate and Figure skating begin following Thanksgiving.

The schedule information below is for the 2020 season, until January 3rd 2021. (Updated September 26th 2020)

Please take note that Saturday programs are run at the Lady Beaverbrook Rink and Sunday programs are held at Willie O’Ree Place

Registration must be made prior to first skating session and space is limited.

IMPORTANT: You must have a updated City Fredericton Recreation Card number and expiration date to register with us. Cards are required for each individual skater. Registrations will not be accepted without this number. 

You can now obtain these cards online here.

To obtain a card number, visit the following link https://www.amilia.com/store/en/city-of-fredericton/shop/memberships?  It is an easy and quick process! You will need to attach a picture of your Drivers Licence or upload photos of two different utility bills with your current address.  The city of fredericton will then issue you a receipt to your email address which will have each individual listed with their updated recreation numbers.

Pre-Canskate is for beginners who have never skated before. (Please note Pre-Canskate is not being offered during the first half of winter 2020, TBD for second term.)

Canskate is the learn-to-skate program for those who have been on the ice before they start lessons.

Adult learn to skate is for those wishing to learn to skate who are beyond the age for Canskate. This program will include group instruction from a certified coach for 2 – 15 minute sessions each week and 1 – 10 minute sessions to practice their skills independently.

All skaters who have not completed badge number 6 of the Skate Canada Canskate program must wear a hockey helmet. Bicycle helmets are not acceptable. Please see the following document for Skate Canada’s helmet policy. Helmet Use Policy

2020 Regular Canskate Schedule

The first term of winter season begins October 17th and October 18th, 2020 and ends January 3, 2021

Saturday – at the Lady Beaverbrook Rink

CanSkate – 12:30 to 1:15 pm

CanSkate – 1:45 to 2:30 pm

Sunday – At Willie O’Ree Place

CanSkate – 12:30 to 1:15 pm

CanSkate – 1:45 to 2:30 pm

CanSkate – 3:00 to 3:45 pm

Canskate will begin on Saturday October 17, 2020, and Sunday October 18, 2020. Skaters must be registered for insurance reasons prior to the first skating session. Any skaters arriving at the first session without prior registration will have to wait until the second week to begin skating if there are available spaces.

* Please make sure to have your skates sharpened before your first day of Canskate. Brand new skates are not usually sharp when purchased, please check them!
* Parents/Guardians are encouraged to watch from the stands, but are not permitted to go on the ice for insurance reasons.

REFUNDS

There are no refunds after November 1, 2020. Any refunds requested will not include the $65.00 Skate Canada New Brunswick registration fee.

All requests for refunds must be submitted in writing to the Club Board of Directors. Refunds will be mailed to the parent within thirty (30) days of the written requests.

First term

Canskate

One(1) Day – $195.00

Skaters registered for first term may register again for second term at a reduced fee.

Second term (fee is only reduced if also registered for first term.)

Canskate

One(1) Day – $195.00 or $130.00 for first term returning skaters

2020-2021 Cancellation Schedule

The Capital City Skating Club shares the use of the City of Fredericton arenas with other users, occasionally we have to cancel or reschedule sessions in order to accommodate special events for other users of the facilities. Cancellations and schedule changes will be kept up to date in our Club Calendar. (Calendar will be updated after dates are received from the City of Fredericton.)
